Blog Info

SABO is an Art Blog dedicated to Contemporary Art- specifically urban art, art of the now, street and graffiti art, the ever-present and ever-evolving avant-garde, and the understanding of modern and post-modern concepts. Its name references the concepts within Jean-Michel Basquiat’s SAMO tagging, in addition to the idea of street art being some kind of city / public space sabotage.

As one of many street art blogs today, what sets SABO apart is its in-depth focus on the artist when discussing a recent piece, exhibition, or geographical location, providing commentary on their visual language and overall political/social agendas. SABO reads both like a “who’s who” of 21st century street and graffiti art, updating the street-wise on the most recent works around the world, and also like a textbook of contemporary concepts, allowing those unfamiliar with this type of art to begin to understand its main artists and ideas.
