About the Author

Lauren Licata is currently a senior in the Art History program at the University of California, Los Angeles. Primarily concentrating on Contemporary Art and Art from the late-19th Century to the present, her artistic passions include everything from Dada and Surrealism to Neo-Expressionism, Pop Art, Abstraction, and Impressionism, to all forms of Neo-Graffiti and Street Art, what can be coined as Grunge/Urban Art, etc. She is also currently studying French Language & Culture and Political Science at the University, and has studied abroad in Madrid, Spain. She is currently working as a PR Associate at the Carmichael Gallery of Contemporary Art in West Hollywood, where she has also interned since April of 2009, and is serving as the Events Committee Head on the Armand HAMMER’s Student Advisory Council and as a member of UCLA’s Art History Undergraduate Student Association. She is currently up to her ears in Graduate School applications, and hopes to enter an Arts Management MA program(me) in London next Fall.
